H. Robert Szwajkowski
H. Robert (Bob) Szwajkowski, M.Ed. of Doylestown, PA peacefully passed from this earthly life on August 3, 2016. The cancer that took his life was aggressive, but he was determined to live as normally as possible. Throughout the many months following his surgery, his beautiful inner strength shined brightly. He lived those months with a strong sense of inner peace and profound courage.
In his professional career, Bob was a high school teacher, guidance counselor, and career counselor. He was on the faculty of Conwell-Egan Catholic High School and the former Bishop Conwell High School for much of his career before moving to Virginia to accept a position as a career counselor in a public school district outside of Richmond, Virginia. In a lengthy career that spanned decades, he touched and enriched the lives of many.
But there was more to Bob than his career and professional and personal accomplishments. There was the person and the inspiring way in which he lived his life.
As Bob always did:
Tell those special people in your life that you love them.
Honor their presence.
Do acts of kindness for others and speak gentle words to those in need.
Live with compassion for others.
Feel the strength of the spirit within you.
Live life with courage, hope, and joy.
Cherish friendships.
Encourage others to pursue their dreams.
Be inspired and feel the healing effects that nature offers.
Be there to listen, understand, and help others.
…and celebrate life.
One more thing, enjoy a good sense of humor.
Bob was the cherished husband and best friend of Mary Coia (a.k.a. Mary Szwajkowski) and the loving and devoted father of Dana McClain. He will be lovingly remembered by his son-in-law Justin McClain; and sisters-in-law and their husbands, Elaine Coia Neary (Jack) and Susan Coia-Gailey (Ron). His beautiful light will forever shine in our hearts, for love is far stronger than death.
Services were private and previously held.
