Obituary for Jeanne M. Bindig

Jeanne M. Bindig
Jeanne M. Bindig of Doylestown, PA passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 in Pine Run Health Center, Doylestown, PA. She was 94.

Jeanne was born in Mountain View, New Jersey on January 8, 1923 to her parents William and Mary Ethel Roe (Burgess). Unfortunately, Jeanne’s father died when she was 6 years old and was raised on the Burgess farm in Mountain View with her Mother, Grandmother and three uncles (Robert, Dick and Harry). Mary Ethel took care of her Mother, Dick and Harry until they passed away in the 1940’s. Jeanne was a classically trained dancer and taught dance for a number of years for the Audrey Osborne School of Dance in Pompton Lakes, N.J. Later Jeanne worked at Continental Can Company and Donohue’s Restaurant. Eventually Jeanne moved with her mother to High Street and met and married Chuck Bindig in 1949. Jeanne and Chuck had two children Susan and Charlie and raised them on High Street until 1962, when they moved to another section of town. Jeanne worked part time for Macy’s Department stores in Wayne and East Brunswick, NJ for many years.

Jeanne was a communicant at Holy Cross RC Church for many years and sent both Charlie and Susan to the elementary school. She was the President of the Holy Cross Rosary Altar Society and was very active working in the school. Jeanne was a devout Catholic and made numerous novenas to Saint Jude and prayed the Rosary daily.

Jeanne and Chuck lived for nearly 30 years in the Rossmoor Retirement Community where Chuck was a trustee, painter and a model railroader. Jeanne eventually moved to the Pine Run Community nearly 4 years ago and lived a full life to the age of 94.

Jeanne is remembered by her son Charlie and his wife Donna, Jeanne’s daughter Susan and her husband Sandy, as well as one granddaughter, Hannah and her husband Jeffrey.
