Derricks
Obituary for Ellwood W. Derricks
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Ellwood and Anna (New) Derricks, he was a resident of Abington, PA before moving to Buckingham Springs in 1997.
He was a former self-employed contractor and worked in the residential and commercial construction business for many years. Ellwood attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church of Doylestown with his wife Rita and also enjoyed carpentry, woodworking and bowling as hobbies.
He was the beloved husband of 68 ½ years to Rita Derricks (nee Williams); devoted father of Ellwood G. and wife Deborah, Michael and wife Carolyn, James and wife Maryanne, Mark and wife Lisa, John and wife Judy; he was also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950 or www.stjude.org would be appreciated.
