Obituary for Mary Rose Crosby

Mary Rose H. Crosby, 82, of Warminster, PA, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, September 12, 2021 after a 3 and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Born in New Boston, PA to the late Mary and Joseph Adzentoivich she resided in Warminster, PA for 58 years as the wife of the late Vincent T. Crosby, Jr., with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Mary Rose served in the Air Force and worked as a lunch aid at Longstreth Elementary School, but she was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing “her numbers,” and feeding the wildlife in her backyard, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was a “kick ass” Granny to Matthew, Kathryn, Jamie, and William. She cheered on her grandchildren at countless races, recitals, concerts, karate promotions, musicals, and sporting events. Mary Rose, who was known for her infectious laugh, was an especially energetic Granny, and her grandkids have numerous memories of their time spent together. We are so thankful that we all lived near to each other so that seeing Granny and Poppy was a regular occurrence.

Mary Rose was a devoted mom to Linda Madara (Thomas), Bridget Fox (Steven), Mary Louise McAnally (James), and Kelly Roberts (Robert), and her son, Vincent Thomas Crosby, III, who preceded her in death.

She is also survived by her sisters, Susan, who she loved to dance in the supermarket aisles with, Frances, and a sister- and brother-in-law, Jane and Richard, with whom she and Vince travelled the world making many interesting and funny memories. She is preceded in death by her twin brother Joseph, her sister Evelyn, and younger brother Ernest. She also has many nieces and nephews that she loved.

In Senegal, the beautiful expression when someone dies is to say his or her library has burned. Earth is poorer for having lost Mary Rose’s library and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mary Rose was a devout Catholic and a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish for 58 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 West Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974 on Friday, September 17th at 11:00 am. The family will receive their friends from 10:15-11:00 am prior to the mass.

Because Mary Rose was such a lover of animals feel free to make a memorial donation in her memory to Bucks County SPCA, 1665 Street Road, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931, in lieu of flowers.
