Obituary for Barbara A. Byrne

Barbara Ann Byrne passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was 74.

Born in Chester County, PA to the late John and Marion McNelly, she was a resident of Bucks County for 54 years.

Barbara graduated from the Abington School of Nursing and began her career working in the Abington Hospital emergency room. She continued to work as a Licenced Practical Nurse and was employed with several nursing homes in Bucks and Montgomery counties. Barbara was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of Buckingham and served on the Bereavement Committee and Respect Life Committee with the church. She played in the men’s softball league managed by her husband and was an excellent pitcher. Barbara also coached softball teams with her husband Bernard.

She was the beloved wife of 56 years to Bernard J. Byrne; devoted mother of Jane Parson (Bill), Barbara Wolfgang (Gary), and Debra Drummond (Tom); loving grandmother of Gary Lee Wolfgang, Christy Wolfgang (Brad DeFrain), Connor Cunnane, Max, Ben and Sara Drummond; cherished great mom mom of Cooper DeFrain.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, PA 18902 on Wednesday, September 15th at 11 am. Please wear a clothing item in the shade of blue in remembrance of Barbara when attending the mass. Blue was her favorite color.

Cremation services were private.
